Description:   Food Helpers is Washington County's leader for helping those who are fighting against hunger. Over 37 years, our non-profit organization has provided programs distributing supplement food and nutritional information/education to food insecure residents of Washington County. 


It is estimated that roughly 46% of the food insecure population may not be eligible for traditional, government-funded food programs. 


This is where Food Helpers steps in, to offer aid, education, and resources for this forgotten group. Our Vision is a world without hunger. Our Mission is to end hunger by creating sustainable communities through equitable access to aid, education, and resource.

Meals on Wheels 

 Meals on Wheels is a nationwide program that provides older Americans nutritious meals and safety checks at little to no cost. The meals can be delivered to your home if you meet eligibility requirements, or you can go to a congregate nutrition site for socialization and food. If you struggle with isolation and meal prep, then Meals on Wheels could provide ease and companionship. Fresh Hope is a peer-to-peer Christ-centered wellness approach for those who suffer from mental illness and for their loved ones. This approach, connecting faith and recovery principles, empowers and encourages individuals to live full and rich lives in spite of their diagnosis.

Freedom Alive is a Christ-centered 12-step program offering recovery from every hurt, hang-up, and habit. Christ came to set the captives free. Luke 4:18 


Celebrate Recovery:

This the website for the national chapter of Celebrate Recovery.  CR is a Christ centered program. Like AA and NA it is based off the original 12 steps of AA.
